Safety Ambassador

Downtown Atlanta’s Safety Ambassadors serve as friendly, visible resources for residents, workers, and visitors throughout the district. Whether providing directions, assisting with vehicle lockouts and dead batteries, conducting parking facility patrols, performing business checks and assisting property owners with fire-drills, or connecting individuals with needed services, our ambassadors help create a welcoming and positive Downtown experience.

Patrolling on foot, bicycles, and trikkes, Safety Ambassadors maintain a strong presence throughout Downtown Atlanta, offering assistance, reporting concerns, and serving as additional eyes and ears for the community. Working closely with the Atlanta Police Department (APD), our team supports public safety efforts through camera monitoring, criminal trespass affidavit coordination, and real-time communication regarding quality-of-life and safety concerns.

To further enhance public safety, Downtown Atlanta, Inc. employs off-duty Atlanta Police officers who provide supplemental patrols throughout the district. These officers support a safe and vibrant Downtown environment while offering direct assistance to commercial property owners, businesses, tenants, employees, and visitors.

Through strong partnerships with the Atlanta Police Department (APD), Georgia State University Police, MARTA Police, Fulton County agencies, the judicial system, and Downtown’s private security community, we foster collaboration, information sharing, and proactive problem-solving to address public safety concerns across the district.

By participating, you help police, fire, and emergency personnel improve situational awareness, respond more effectively to incidents, and strengthen emergency preparedness. The program also assists investigators in quickly accessing critical evidence when incidents occur, helping support public safety efforts across the district.
Criminal Trespass Program
Downtown Atlanta Inc.’s Criminal Trespass Program provides participating businesses and property owners with an additional tool to help maintain a safe and welcoming environment. Through executed authorization agreements, our Safety Ambassadors and off-duty police officers can patrol private property, including parking facilities, address unauthorized activity, request the removal of trespassers, and coordinate law enforcement response when necessary. By acting on behalf of participating property owners, the program enhances safety, improves response times, and helps protect businesses, employees, residents, and visitors throughout Downtown Atlanta.
