On September 25 historic Oakland Cemetery will welcome visitors to its 44th annual Sunday in the Park festival, an event that celebrates the local communities that make Atlanta and Oakland what they are today. This year Historic Oakland Foundation is combining the event with its annual Tunes from the Tombs music festival and welcoming headliners SUSTO and Sailing to Denver to its North Public Grounds stage along with other acts.
From noon to 7 p.m. Sunday in the Park attendees will find activities for all ages, including living history theater performances, free cemetery tours, food trucks, live music, storytelling, a kids’ zone, a historical costume contest, and more. The event also includes a market with one-of-a-kind wares from local artists. All proceeds benefit Historic Oakland Foundation.
