Project Overview
The City of Atlanta Department of Transportation (ATLDOT) and the Atlanta Downtown Improvement District (ADID) partnered together to transform Forsyth Street in Downtown Atlanta. The project:
- Resurfaced Forsyth Street between Memorial Dr. SW and Peachtree St. NE
- Upgraded ADA ramps.
- Installed north-south bike infrastructure between Memorial Dr. and Alabama St.
- Added parking and loading space in the Fairlie Poplar District to better support curbside operations.
- Lowered the posted speed limit to 25pmh and installed other traffic calming measures in keeping with the City of Atlanta’s Vision Zero goals.
Funding
This project is part of the City of Atlanta's 2021 LMIG Resurfacing Program with additional support from District 4 Renew and ADID funds.
Community Engagement
Community engagement was completed in Spring 2022. CAP/ADID hosted a virtual community meeting via Zoom on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 from 6:00-7:00pm.
